The cranes are used in industries for various purposes.
Bridge cranes
Though, Bridge cranes or overhead cranes are very common in manufacturing environment, different cranes are used for different purposes. Basically, cranes are divided into two categories 1) static crane and 2) mobile crane.
Static crane
As the name signifies, static cranes do not perform so much movement. Some examples of static crane are tower cranes, Gantry cranes, loader cranes etc.
Tower crane
Tower cranes are very large and fixed on the ground and widely used to construct tall buildings. They are also very useful to transport largest and heaviest loads.
There is no doubt that tower cranes have no comparison in lifting and loading capacity and no other cranes can match their height capacity as well.
Mobile crane
Mobile cranes are controlled by cables and a telescopic boom is linked to their platform. There are a wide variety in size and shape of mobile cranes. Some examples are vehicle-mounted crane, telescopic handler, sidelifter etc.
Advantages of mobile cranes
Lifting operations like indoor lifts or statute lifting are not suitable for static cranes and in such cases; mobile cranes are the best option, as they are flexible and accessible. You do not need a lot of space for mobile cranes and they are cost-effective as well.
